Lately I’ve been on this kick of layering multiple views and angles of my images to create dimension and obscure things as they really are. I like to see how the blended layers play off one another and blur my subjects into new abstract meanings. It can create a dynamic that wasn’t there before. There are a few ways to do this. One would require some premeditation and created in camera, with the multiple exposure mode. Another would be in post, possibly using Photoshop and creating layers of the same image, flipped or transformed, or using a combination of the same image at various angles, therefore making a “new” image of bizarre perspectives. A third way would be the old fashioned way, in the darkroom, maybe using the “sandwich” technique I blogged about a few weeks ago:
